this is horrible. microsoft is so terrible and extremely horrible for enabling this kind of thing at all. being able to take away what was bought at all and forcing people to buy again just to access the game is truly unforgivable.

I had the demo version of Minecraft: Java Edition on my mums email and on a couple of my emails and they werent migrated and im so sad :(

I'm having this issue right now. I can't log into ANY of my accounts, I have 3, and yes, I did complete migration...it just doesn't register that the accounts are in any way valid accounts. I even played and paid for realms for quite a while and it still does not detect that any licenses were purchased. This is complete and utter thievery and bullshit and those that shill for this devil company are the reason why mega corporations expect and force compliance. THE SHEEP WILL ALWAYS DEFEND THIS CORRUPTION.

i never actually knew that minecraft migrations were gonna stop so on the very last day i quickly migrated my account (for some reason i didnt get any emails)

Fun Fact: I created a Mojang account - but didn't buy the game at that point. It was after the announcement but before accounts could already be migrated. I did create the account in hopes to get the migration cape - nowhere, in any blog post, tos, news article or announcements did they state that accounts required ownership of the game to be able to migrate. Well, turns out you couldn't migrate an account without the game on it - they simply deleted the account. Even after going back and forth with support - and it took over a week for them to even find out that the account was delete (they simply didn't account for accounts that didn't own the game) - nothing could be done. I missed out on the cape and the chance to get it has passed forever.

This is a terrible argument for ownership. OMG I WAS PUNISHED FOR SOMETHING THEY WARNED ME ABOUT FOR THREE YEARS! EA, Ubisoft, App devs can be terrible entities and make terrible business decisions but this take is genuinely setting the argument back.

For those curious on how you can do this yourselves, you can't. The developer doesn't want to give out instructions on how he modified Java to work on 98 because it took him too much time, and he doesn't want to give out the modded files because apparently Oracle is like Nintendo when it comes to copyright. Fun.

I bought a minecraft account in 2011.. I was on hiatus during this time and had no idea the whole migration process was a thing.. I tried to migrate my account on the last month- however; I couldn't remember my log in. So, I bought another minecraft account bc I for real just didn't care.. 26$ wasn't much to me compared to my paycheck.
